Kobayashi’s Multiplicity-One Theorem in Branching laws and the Orbit Philosophy of Kirillov–Kostant–Duflo–Vogan
De Salma Nasrin
The orbit philosophy suggests an intimate relationship between the unitary dual and the set of coadjoint orbits, though it is observed that the correspondence does not work perfectly in the reductive case. Inspired by various Kobayashi’s theorems on the restriction of unitary representations such as Kobayashi’s multiplicity-one theorem and Kobayashi’s discretely decomposability theorem, I plan to discuss some expected counterparts in the geometry of coadjoint orbits in certain special settings via the orbit philosophy due to Kirillov–Kostant–Duflo–Vogan.
