Several conferences in our research area were organized across the world. The first one was held at CIRM in 2003 and it served to reunite this community. Afterwards, two other conferences were organized at CIRM in 2009 and 2015. Also, we had about one conference of this type every year at several locations in the globe: CIRM, Chicago, Fields Institute, S’de Bocker (Israel), MSRI (Berkeley), Max Planck Institute (Bonn), HIM (Bonn), Oberwolfach… Each of such conferences were extremely beneficial to all participants and this is what motivates us to organize a new one at CIRM in 2022. Indeed, the knowledge advances very quickly in our field (and we expect that many new results will be proved within the next two years), and this partly justifies the need for regular meetings of this kind. One of the main goals of this conference is to exchange informations on new techniques and ongoing projects because they are often important to researchers in this field (as their backgrounds are often very different from each other) and sometimes these informations are not accessible (not even under the form of preprints) for several years due to their intricate nature.

Plusieurs conférences ont été organisées ces dernières années dans notre domaine à travers le monde. La première a été organisée au CIRM en 2003 et a fédéré cette communauté. Ensuite, deux autres conférences ont été organisées en 2009 et 2015. Par ailleurs, il y a environ une conférence par an sur le domaine à travers le monde : CIRM, Chicago, Fields Institute, S’de Bocker (Israel), MSRI (Berkeley), Max Planck Institute (Bonn), HIM (Bonn), Oberwolfach… Chacune de ces conférences a été très profitable pour les participants. C’est une des raisons qui nous a poussé à en organiser une nouvelle. L’avancement de la connaissance particulièrement rapide dans notre domaine nécessite des rencontres régulières. Nous espérons que beaucoup de nouveaux résultats et de nouvelles idées vont apparaître dans les deux ans qui viennent. Un des buts de la conférence est d’échanger des informations sur des approches nouvelles et sur les projets en cours. Souvent de telles informations ne sont pas accessibles pendant des années même sous forme de prépublication.
