Using Genetics-based Instrumental Variable methods for causal inference in public health and drug development

In this talk I will describe how the advent of publicly available genome-wide summary statistics from international disease consortia and government biobanks over the last 15 years has led to an explosion in the development and use of genetics-based causal inference methodology, with applications in public health and pharmaceutical drug development.
