In search of p-adic Maaß forms

Following a suggestion of Blasius and Calegari, we explore some analogies between Maass wave forms and (p-adic) overconvergent eigenforms. This is an attempt to further flesh out a recently emerging collection of arithmetic applications of this circle of ideas. This is joint work with Paolo Bordignon.
