Persi Diaconis, an American mathematician and statistician, was born in 1945 in the United States. Working as a maths and statistics teacher at the Stanford University, he is mostly renowned for his study of randomness, such as cards shuffling.In 1974, he graduated from Harvard and started his career at Stanford as a teaching assistant and then as a professor. He later worked at Harvard, Cornell and even in France, at the University of Nice.As a multiple award winner, he is a member of the U.S. National Academy.
