2024 - T3 - Post-quantum algebraic cryptography

Collection 2024 - T3 - Post-quantum algebraic cryptography

Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) aims to design cryptographic algorithms that are secure against classical and quantum adversaries. PQC has been an active area of fundamental research for decades. In recent years, post-quantum cryptography has also become a topic of major industrial interest. This shift is driven by a post-quantum standardization process, led by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), to renew public-key cryptographic standards with a new generation of quantum-resistant algorithms. After a process lasting about five years, starting in 2017, NIST issued the first set of post-quantum standards in 2024. This IHP trimester on PQC is organized at a timely period as post-quantum cryptography will be deployed at scale.
