Learning related Encoding Power of the DMS versus DLS networks

By Patricia Reynaud-Bouret

I will present how classical firing rate analysis is not able to well describe the role of DorsoMedian Striatum (DMS) with respect to DorsoLateral Striatum (DLS) in a free spatial learning task done by rats. I will then explain how synchronisation analysis, task coding analysis and more importantly encoding power analysis based on Hawkes processes can help to shed more lights on the role of DMS in free learning tasks. All analysis methods will be mathematically described and discussed. This is a joint work with Ingrid Bethus and Maxime Villet (IPMC, Sophia), Francesca Sargolini (LNC, Marseille), Alexandre Muzy (I3S, Sophia), Jacopo Baldi (ISC, Lyon) and Sophie Jaffard (LJAD, Nice).
