Simultaneous control of bilinear systems -- a mathematical challenge arising in QC

By Gunther Dirr

Motivated by controlling NMR-experiments with inhomogeneities or, more general, by controlling quantum systems with parameter uncertainties, we discuss open-loop control problems for bilinear systems on Lie groups. First, we recall some basic results for finite parameter sets. Then, after a short digression on linear systems with continuous parameter range, we return to our initial setting and present first results for approximate controllability of bilinear systems with continuous parameter sets.
